Aden – Security forces in the southern city of Aden have successfully dismantled a covert cell consisting of 12 individuals accused of recruiting young men to join Houthi militias in their fight against state institutions. According to official sources, the cell operated under direct instructions from Houthi leadership and was tasked with luring vulnerable youth through financial incentives and ideological propaganda. The detainees are currently under investigation, and preliminary findings suggest that the cell had established communication channels with Houthi operatives in northern Yemen. A spokesperson for the Aden Security Directorate stated, “This operation is part of our ongoing efforts to protect national security and prevent hostile elements from infiltrating our communities. The arrests mark a significant step in countering Houthi influence in southern Yemen, where tensions remain high amid ongoing conflict and political fragmentation.
