The warning lasts from midnight on Saturday (October 3) until 7pm on the same day. The Met Office has warned that bus and train services may be affected, with some journeys taking longer. It said that it is likely that some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities will be affected by spray or large waves, and that some short term loss of power and other services is possible. It also added that there may be delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges, as well as some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport. A Met Office spokesperson said: “West to southwesterly winds will strengthen and become rather gusty on Saturday, with gusts of 45-55 mph possible in places, and perhaps 60-65 mph along some exposed coasts, especially in the west, and briefly over more exposed hills inland.
