The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office has invited residents throughout the parish to join in the Night Out Against Crime event Oct. 21 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Jenni Barrette, a spokesperson for the sheriff’s office, said residents can expect block parties throughout the parish hosted by residents, businesses and organizations to rally against crime. “Members of [the sheriff’s office] will visit parties to connect with the community and bring various equipment for demonstration,” Barrette said. “We hope that residents take a stand with us.”She said the partnership between the sheriff’s office and residents is important to unify the community and collectively take a stand against crime. “The objective here for National Night Out is to bring together as many residents, businesses, and organizations in our community as we can to give crime a going-away party,” she said.
