Every year, Policy Matters Ohio examines how well the economy is working for working Ohioans. Only two of the state’s most common jobs pay their typical worker enough to qualify a family of three as “economically stable,” with wages at or above 200% of the poverty level ($49,720 last year). In 2023, an Ohio worker who was paid minimum wage could work full-time, year-round, and still fall $4,084 short of the poverty line for a family of three.
