These CL’s are pilot fish, who warn of the sharks in black — Campus Security and Saanich Police Officers. I was reminded of this during my most recent visit to campus, the first in over a year. My friends and I had driven to campus, and it took only a few seconds once we’d left the car for two policemen and a Campus Security officer to descend upon us. By now I’ve become accustomed to the officers who patrol campus and their aggressive manner of dealing with students. When it comes to campus policing, this mindset has observable negative effects on the students that the officers are sworn to protect.
