Monday, September 15, the Valley Center Municipal Water District (VCMWD) board of directors voted to appoint Lindsay Leahy as the district’s new general manager. She will succeed Gary Arant, who will retire later this year after 36 years of dedicated service as general manager. A registered professional engineer, Leahy currently serves as deputy general manager at Santa Margarita Water District in Orange County. Her bio on the Santa Margarita Water District website noted: Fun fact: At one time, Lindsay once aspired to design roller coasters—imagining the perks of unlimited front-row rides. She also earned a Water Management and Leadership Certificate from California State University, San Marcos in 2019.
