He told the audience he’d pledged $100,000 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, but for every second a winner went over the 45-second speech limit, he would deduct $1,000. The Boys & Girls Club Gets the Last WordBargatze’s donation gag threaded the show, with his “calculations” dropping the donation total into negative numbers. In the closing minutes, Bargatze pesonally pledged $250,000 to the Boys & Girls Club, and CBS added another $100,000.
