Per the Rangers, Littlefield was in Houston on assignment in his role as a special assistant, player personnel. 'The Texas Rangers are devastated by the passing of Scott Littlefield,' said Chris Young, Rangers president of baseball operations. 'Scott was one of the most respected scouts in Major League Baseball who had an incredible impact on this organization. Littlefield also was heavily involved in the Rangers' amateur and international scouting operations and received Texas' Red Jacket Scout of the Year honors in 2019.
