Williams is a native of Vicksburg and a 1982 graduate of Vicksburg High School. She earned her commission in 1986 through the Senior Army ROTC Early Commissioning Program (ECP) at Jackson State University where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. She is a proud member of the Vicksburg Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, Vicksburg Branch NAACP, and Kappa Epsilon Psi Military Sorority. She is a lifetime member of the United States Army ROTC Hall of Fame. The NAMI Vicksburg Walk is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 4 at 8:30 a.m. inside the Vicksburg Mall, 3505 Pemberton Square Blvd.
