The Vicksburg Hipstoric Arts Festival Legacy Art Show kicked off with a reception on Thursday evening at the H.C. Porter gallery. The show, which was sponsored by the Vicksburg Art Association (VAA), featured over a dozen artists who were either born in Vicksburg or chose to make Vicksburg their home. “It'll be a good way to remind everyone about all the amazing talent we have here,” said VAA President Ashley Schutt. The show is a fundraiser for the coming Vicksburg Hipstoric Arts Festival, particularly the prize money that will be given to winners of the juried art show at the festival. The pieces are accompanied by a portrait and short biography of the artists.
