The Falmouth lifeboat, along with the Porthoustock Coastguard Team and the HM Coastguard Rescue Helicopter, was tasked at 3.40pm to assist two people shouting and waving for help near Porthkerris Cove. Falmouth’s Shannon-class lifeboat ‘Decibel Too’ launched at 3.45pm into slight seas and a southwesterly Force 4 wind, crossing Falmouth Bay and arriving on scene within 20 minutes. Two divers were rescued off the Lizard Peninsula yesterday afternoon after getting into(Image: RNLI / Simon Culliford)HMS Mersey arrived moments earlier and launched its rescue boat, recovering the two divers and transferring them to the lifeboat for casualty care. After checking their dive computers and confirming that correct procedures had been followed, both were declared fit and well, with no need for further medical assistance. The rescue helicopter was stood down, and the divers were transferred to the Shannon’s XEP boat for the short journey back to the beach, where they were met by the Porthoustock Coastguard Rescue Team.
