Thirteen volunteers from Assynt Mountain Rescue Team will be taking part in the Golspie Backyard Ultra next month. Assynt Mountain Rescue Team is fundraising for a new Titan stretcher and its accessories. A team spokesperson said: “These state-of-the-art lightweight stretchers and accessories aren't cheap, costing £6,394 in total. However, they are vital pieces of equipment for safely transporting casualties over, up, down and around mountainous terrain.”Now in its third year, the Golspie Backyard Ultra will take place on November 8 in the grounds of Dunrobin Castle.
