The Nigerian Bar Association has slammed the Nigeria Police Force and the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun over the enforcement of the controversial tinted glass permit. However, in a suit filed against the police and the IGP, the NBA described the scheme as illegal and an exploitation of motorists across by country. The suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/1821/2025, challenges the constitutionality of the policy as implemented by the Nigeria Police Force and the IGP. “Any citizen who is harassed by the police in the purported enforcement of the illegal tinted glass permit should feel free to contact any of the NBA branches,” Edun said. He also accused the police of turning the tinted glass permit scheme into a revenue-generating venture which could generate at least N3 billion within one month of its implementation.
