Police Crack Theft Case, Recover Gold and Cash Worth Lakhs

SRINAGAR: Police in Awantipora on Friday said that they had solved a theft case within days of its occurrence by arresting the accused and recovering stolen property worth over Rs 1.3 lakh.
A special team was constituted under the supervision of SHO Awantipora Inspector Ajaz Ahmad and Incharge Police Post Reshipora Inspector Bilal Ahmad.
The team examined CCTV footage from multiple locations and pursued technical leads which eventually pointed to the involvement of Bashir Ahmad Sheikh, son of Gh.
Police said the stolen items, including gold ornaments and cash valued at Rs 1,30,000, were recovered from his possession.
The recovery of the stolen property has brought relief to the victim’s family,” an official said.
