As reported by FAN Transport News, Mario Cordero, the long-serving CEO of the Port of Long Beach, has announced his retirement plans for the end of 2025. “His steady and reassuring presence provided immense support to our workforce and community throughout the pandemic,” remarked Frank Colonna, President of the Long Beach Harbor Commission. Early on, he championed the Green Ports Policy—an initiative focused on environmental sustainability that was adopted in 2005 and has shaped decision-making at Long Beach ever since. “He has steered one of our busiest seaports through extraordinary challenges with foresight and unwavering leadership while prioritizing people and community,” stated Rex Richardson, Mayor of Long Beach. “Leading the Port of Long Beach over these past years has been an incredible opportunity,” expressed Cordero.
