The two members of the Jewish community killed in the attack on a synagogue in Crumpsall have been named as 53-year-old Adrian Daulby and 66-year-old Melvin Cravitz.
An update released by Greater Manchester Police on Friday morning confirmed that one of the victims died after being injured by a police gunshot wound.
It is thought that one of the three people who remain in hospital also suffered a gunshot wound.
It is thought that the two victims were close together behind the synagogue door when they suffered the injuries.
