Cameron Stanley Duncan, 18, formerly of Workington but now Carlisle based, admitted a raft of driving offences when he appeared before the city’s Rickergate court.
They were aggravated vehicle taking, careless and uninsured driving, and driving in a way not permitted by his driving licence.
“The car was then seen reversing and driving away at speed, without the driver stopping to provide any details,” said Mrs Jackson.
The woman drove after the departing Corsa, finding it a short time later, with the teenager sitting in the vehicle.
District Judge Holden urged Duncan, of Mount Pleasant Road, Currock, Carlisle, to work with the authorities between now and his sentencing hearing on November 13.
