Dry conditions allowed 6.2 days suitable for fieldwork for Iowa farmers during the week ending September 28th, according to the USDA, National Agricultural Statistics Service.
The warm temperatures also quickly advanced crop maturity.
Fieldwork included harvesting corn and soybeans.
In southeast Iowa, 86% of corn reached maturity, with 32% being harvested.
