World Sight Day, observed on the second Thursday of October, falls on 9 October 2025. Organized by the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB) and the World Health Organization, the day highlights the global challenge of vision impairment—particularly in low- and middle-income regions, where distance vision problems are estimated to be four times higher than in high-income areas. As the day approaches, we explore eye health with insights from Dr. Juliet Otiti Senger, Senior Ophthalmologist, and Dr. Edrisa Mutebi, Senior Endocrinologist.
