Police say at 9pm on Wednesday, October 1, a family home in the village of Woolstone, south of Faringdon, was burgled. It is claimed the offenders had smashed a window to get into the property and "stole high value items from within", although the officers did not say what those items were. Earlier this year, Thames Valley Police had warned of burglaries in the Faringdon area. The latest crime data for Faringdon suggests burglary is not a problem for the area relatively, revealing two offences had been reported in August. In the last 12 months, there have been 59 burglaries committed and in three years, that number is 202.
