Shop in historic Nottingham building is still empty 18 months after cafe forced outThe property is up to let with an annual rent of £75,000View Image It's 18 months since Patisserie Valerie moved out and the property remains empty (Image: Joseph Raynor/ Reach PLC)In April 2024, Patisserie Valerie bid farewell to Nottingham city centre after more than a decade of serving breakfasts, coffee, and its mouth-watering cakes. ‌But after 18 months, the property within the historic shopping arcade remains empty, with no sign of a new tenant taking over. ‌The former Patisserie Valerie unit is still being advertised for let through commercial property consultants Box Property. ‌At the time, a spokesperson for Patisserie Valerie said they "definitely" didn't want to move out and were trying to negotiate new terms with the landlord. While the top floor is owned by Nottingham City Council, the shops on the lower floor belong to London-based Shell Pensions Trust.
