The Israeli navy intercepted 13 vessels from the 50-boat Global Sumud Flotilla as it approached the coast of Gaza. Israeli forces have reportedly detained over 200 individuals participating in a flotilla, as stated by spokesperson Saif Abukeshek. In Italy, where a general strike was previously organized in support, thousands took to the streets in various cities to demonstrate solidarity with the Global Sumud Flotilla. Meanwhile, Ireland’s foreign minister described the flotilla as a “peaceful mission” aimed at drawing attention to a significant humanitarian crisis. Meanwhile, Brazil has demanded that Israel promptly and without conditions remove all barriers to humanitarian aid flowing into Gaza.
