The ODP Corporation, owner of Office Depot, entered an agreement to be acquired privately by Atlas Holdings, an equity firm, valuing the company to be roughly $1 billion.
1 Once a company goes private, the company can be controlled by one individual or a small group of private shareholders (stock photo).
In 2024, there were 869 Office Depot and OfficeMax locations in the U.S., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
• Going private can lead to a reduction in financial and pricing stability as there are fewer financing options and decreased liquidity.
