The UN’s former top humanitarian official, Martin Griffiths, also became the latest expert to label Israel’s actions in Gaza as a genocide. Nearly 150,000 Rohingya have been confined to internment camps in the state since 2012, relying on humanitarian assistance to survive. Leaders of UN agencies and a few big NGOs meet in Geneva on 17 June to plot out the next steps for the closed-door process dubbed the “humanitarian reset”.
