The parking supplementary planning document (SPD) will become a material consideration for all planning applications.
At a Royal Borough cabinet meeting on Tuesday (September 30), councillors heard the breakdown of the planning document – the first new parking SPD in the borough since 2004.
There is an issue in St Mary’s and the town centre where there is an oversupply of car parking.
People are taking up other people’s spaces.”Mr Motuel said clear markings for visitor parking can ‘certainly’ be added in the SPD.
He added that parking management plans fall under planning conditions rather than the SPD.
