A long-vacant property on South Exchange Street could soon become home to dozens of new rental units aimed at local workers.
City officials say the empty lot at 595 South Exchange Street — known as the “OEO Site” — is set to be redeveloped into workforce housing, with 64 new apartments proposed for the site.
The Geneva City Council has named Pivotal, along with Taylor the Builders, Greenleaf Builders, and Hunt E/A/S, as the Preferred Developer for the project.
The team has been working with the City since March to shape plans for the location, which has sat unused in the heart of downtown.
The City Council will take public comments before deciding whether to sell the property to the development team.
