A man who opened fire during a July shooting in Auburn, New York, has pleaded guilty to murder and illegal firearm possession, officials announced. Davon Dixon, 35, of Brooklyn, entered the plea in Cayuga County Court on October 1. The charges include one count of second-degree murder, a class A-I felony, and one count of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a class C armed violent felony. The weapons charge carries 15 years plus five years of post-release supervision, to be served concurrently with the sentence for the murder conviction. The fatal shooting occurred in the City of Auburn and involved a loaded firearm, which Dixon reportedly used to fire multiple rounds.
