MINOT — The board governing the North Dakota University System did not discuss a proposed policy change on filling presidential vacancies without a search.
However, the State Board of Higher Education did request that a search committee be used to fill one such position at its meeting in Minot on Tuesday, Sept. 23.
ADVERTISEMENTThe proposed policy change would allow president positions to be filled without a search instead of always defaulting to a search committee, according to board documents.
The board took a different path with the interim president of Bismarck State College.
Also Tuesday, the board awarded interim chancellor Sanford the permanent role and changed the name of that role in the process.
