Octopus Energy's Greg Jackson appointed to Cabinet Office to advise UK government

Greg Jackson, founder of the UK’s biggest energy provider Octopus Energy, has been appointed as a non-executive member of the UK government Cabinet Office Board, where he will serve for three years.
The Cabinet Office Board comprises Cabinet Office ministers, senior executives, and non-executives from outside government.
In his role on the Cabinet Office Board, Jackson will bring his energy industry expertise to give an external perspective on government strategy.
As well as supplying energy to domestic and business properties, Octopus Energy Group has divisions that provide low carbon technologies such as heat pumps and smart meters (technologies that also provide customer savings).
It has pioneered the ‘Zero Bills’ homes initiative and energy management offshoot Kraken that supports projects including Intelligent Octopus Go, Octopus Energy’s electric vehicle (EV) tariff, that manages a cumulative 1GW of EV batteries.
