Battery energy storage system (BESS) owner and operator Zenobē has announced that it has acquired a BESS project from developer Innova. Zenobē has bought the Harker BESS, a 400MW ready-to-build development in Low Harker, Cumbria, in a deal of undisclosed value. The project has been under development by Innova since 2022, with planning permission being secured for the site in October 2023. Zenobē has set an ambitious target to have 3.6GW/12GWh of BESS capacity in operation by the year 2030. To date, the company has 1.2GW of BESS assets in operation or under construction, including the 200MW/400MWh Blackhillock BESS in Scotland.
