Large-scale solar investor Bluefield Solar has been granted planning permission for four new solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects across England.
The Water Hall Solar Farm, located in West Sussex, will have a solar capacity of 35MW, while Huntingdonshire’s Rookery Solar Farm and BESS will have a 49.9MW generation capacity alongside a co-located 40MW BESS.
The two remaining BESS projects will be co-located with previously consented solar PV power plants.
In January, alongside developer Lightrock Power, Bluefield Solar secured planning consent for two separate projects; the first, a 40MW solar PV power plant near Barry, Vale of Glamorgan, is the developer’s first project to be located in Wales.
Last month, Bluefield Solar and Lightrock Power sold the Longpasture Solar Farm, a 49.9MW, fully consented solar PV power plant located in County Durham, to independent power producer (IPP) Enviromena.
