European private equity firm Omnes Capital and Paris-based investment company Infranity have announced a strategic equity partnership with independent power producer (IPP) Power Capital Renewable Energy. It says it is the largest solar IPP in Ireland. The partnership with Omnes and Infranity is intended to accelerate Power Capital’s next phase of growth, including its newer focus on battery energy storage systems (BESS). The agreement with Omnes and Infranity is expected to close by the end of September, once approvals are obtained. Omnes made a strategic investment in Power Capital in 2020, something that the equity firm’s director, Jean-Baptiste Delattre said supported the company’s “evolution into Ireland’s leading solar IPP”.
