European renewable energy firm NTR has raised €65 million for Monvallet, a ready-to-build solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) portfolio. Funding will mark the construction of NTR’s Irish plant for the L&G NTR Clean Power (Europe) III Fund. The financing includes an initial €65 million term loan with ancillary and accordion facilities, allowing funding for the BESS portion and additional solar and BESS projects in Ireland, including a 115 MW solar project owned by NTR Clean Power Fund. Recently, the company, with assistance from renewable energy consultancy Natural Power, acquired 326 MW of solar and battery energy storage (BESS) capacity in Ireland. The 9 MW BESS in Gorey joined EirGrid’s DS3 service in April 2023, while the 16 MW Avonbeg BESS is set to enter the DS3 market this April.
