Engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) company GRS has completed construction of a 49.4MW/98.8MWh battery energy storage system in Scotland. The standalone BESS project was built for energy investment firm Foresight Group and is currently awaiting being energised. The Glendevon project is the second BESS project in the UK that Gransolar Group, the parent company of GRS, has undertaken in the UK. Investment of the project was made through Foresight’s flagship energy transition infrastructure fund, FEIP. Foresight recently sold a 50% stake in another BESS project in Scotland, the 50MW Lunanhead project in Perthshire.
