The Turkish side requested a change to the day and time of a planned meeting between Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, according to Greek government spokesperson Pavlos Marinakis. Marinakis stated that a meeting between the US president and Arab leaders, which Erdogan was also invited to, was announced yesterday without a specific time. Hours later, he explained, it was scheduled to begin just 30 minutes after the planned Mitsotakis-Erdogan call. “There was coordination between the two sides and the meeting with the Turkish president was set for 2:00 PM New York time,” Marinakis said. He presented a robust defence of the government’s foreign policy record, particularly regarding dialogue with Turkey.
