Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis held a series of separate meetings with world leaders on Tuesday on the sidelines of the 80th United Nations General Assembly in New York. His counterparts included Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Kamal Madbouly, Sierra Leone’s President Julius Maada Wonie Bio, and Yemeni President Rashad Al-Alimi. Talks with Egyptian Prime Minister Madbouly centered on the two countries’ strategic bilateral partnership, migration cooperation, and the significance of the historic Greek Orthodox St. Catherine’s Monastery in Sinai. When meeting with Sierra Leone’s President Bio, discussions revolved around cooperation within the framework of the UN Security Council. Finally, during his meeting with Yemen’s President Al-Alimi, Mitsotakis reiterated Greece’s support for the Yemeni government.
