More than a dozen city officials arrested while protesting immigration crackdownMore than a dozen city officials and lawmakers, and dozens of other demonstrators, were arrested Thursday both inside and outside 26 Federal Plaza while protesting conditions at the building and President Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown in the city. Public Advocate Jumaane Williams, state Sen. Julia Salazar, Assemblymember Phara Souffrant Forrest and members of the City Council were among those detained at the protest.
