Erdogan at UN: Pushes “Two States in Cyprus,” Condemns Gaza Violence
['Bill Giannopoulos']
Greek City Times
Speaking from the UN General Assembly podium shortly after U.S. President Donald Trump, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan reignited tensions by insisting that “there are two states in Cyprus” and urging the international community to recognize the breakaway Turkish-occupied north.
“We will not become a minority,” Erdogan declared, underscoring Ankara’s long-held stance on Cyprus.
Drawing sharp contrasts, he said: “In Europe and the U.S., if a child pricks their hand with a rose, it’s considered a disaster, but in Gaza they are amputated.”He went on: “The genocide in Gaza is being broadcast live.
On one side, there is an army with modern weapons, on the other, unarmed civilians.
Gaza is being destroyed under the pretext of Hamas.”
