Abreu, who illicitly lived in the United States for two decades under a stolen American identity, was indicted on severe charges including voter fraud and illegal firearm possession. Abreu illegally entered the United States approximately 20 years ago and has been living in disguise, evading a 2007 arrest warrant issued in New Jersey for multiple felonies, including kidnapping and sexual assault. His fraudulent actions extended to the registration rolls, where he managed to register to vote in September 2020, subsequently casting a vote in 2022. Moreover, Abreu faces additional charges for unlawful possession of a firearm.
