FC Samartex 1996 have hired former Ghana Premier League striker Eric Bekoe as the strikers coach for the team. The hire is expected to aid in the production from the 2023-2024 League Champions’ frontline that has thus far underperformed. Three games into the 2025-2026 Ghana Premier League season, Samartex have drawn all three games and scored just once during this period. Bekoe emerged as one of the biggest stars in the Ghana Premier League in the mid-2000’s off his brilliant run with Kpando Heart of Lions and Kumasi Asante Kotoko. He won the top goal scorers award in the 2007-2008 season where he scored 17 goals in 23 games.
