The UN Secretary General has set out an ambitious programme for reform and change, including the launch of a New Humanitarian Compact. 30 million need aid, and the siege of El Fasher – home to an estimated 900,000 people – must be lifted. Last week, I visited Haiti and saw a crisis hitting from all sides – violence, displacement and collapsing services. We marked World Humanitarian Day on 19 August.
