But councillors for the Halliwell and Rumworth wards, which are also ranked amongst the 10 per cent most deprived in the country, say they are disappointed to be left out. But independent Cllr Ayyub Patel, of Rumworth, says he does not believe it acceptable to focus £20M on Breightmet alone while his community misses out. “The additional £1.5 million must be redirected to support wards like Rumworth and Halliwell, where the impact would be transformative."
