This came when Backup North West was announced as the winner of the social enterprise award category. The winners were announced at a ceremony hosted by ITV Grenada’s Elaine Willcox at the Toughsheet Stadium last Saturday. Speaking to The Bolton News after the award was handed over, Backup North West CEO Maura Jackson said: "I think it's amazing because the category is very competitive with some amazing people in it. Various kinds of social enterprises working across fields like, health, youth work, housing and many more were put forward for the coveted accolade at this year’s awards. Also nominated alongside Backup North West were Be The Change Youth Project CIC, UK Healthcare, Bolton Hospice and Entrepreneurs Unlocked.
