British Airways maintains it operates to more American destinations than any other UK carrier, with St. Louis poised to become its 27th. The launch will make British Airways the only UK airline operating direct flights to St. Louis. The launch of the St. Louis route also coincides with the 100th anniversary of Route 66, the iconic highway that starts in Chicago, passes through St. Louis, and ends in Los Angeles.
