Unless the Marc Guehi pursuit was deliberately pursued toward the end of the window as a negotiation strategy, it feels like the transfer was an afterthought, or bonus, because of just how many offensive players were seemingly prioritised. If not already, surely Liverpool should be making contact with Palace to test the temperature for a January move. Though, this feels like a double-edged sword because given Chelsea’s offensive qualities, our defensive skills too will be on show.
