According to airport officials, 17 flights were cancelled shortly after 10 pm local time, impacting nearly 3000 passengers. Another 15 incoming flights were diverted to Stuttgart, Nuremberg, and Frankfurt in Germany, as well as Vienna, Austria. Munich now joins several other European airports recently forced to halt operations over drone sightings. Authorities there imposed a temporary ban on all civil drone flights as European leaders gathered in Copenhagen to discuss security and Ukraine.
