It is Newcastle's maiden Australia Cup final and their first decider since the 2017-18 grand final defeat to Melbourne Victory as they chase their first silverware since completing the premiership-championship in 2007-08. As the only remaining A-League Men club left, the Jets are favourites against Heidelberg, who already beat Western Sydney, Wellington and Auckland FC.
