WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) - CASA and Foster Care Information Night was hosted by Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Marathon County and the Marathon County Department of Social Services. The evening at the Historic Everest Mansion featured stories, a Q&A, and information on creating a safe home for foster children. The event was free for anyone curious about becoming a CASA volunteer or foster parent. Foster parents give children a place to call home while CASA members give foster children a voice in court. “There’s a saying that, ‘I’m not ready to be a foster parent,’ but if you look from the child’s perspective, they weren’t ready to be a foster child either.
