Naurato’s new strategy to target CHL stars should see the Wolverines producing results more similar to what they’re used to. Last season, Michigan put trust into players that had plenty of skill, but not enough experience. Due to the professional nature of this league, especially with the compensation players receive, the NCAA initially barred CHL athletes from participating at the collegiate level. The caliber of players is different with these athletes, and that will change the landscape of NCAA hockey. And of course the CHL players will make a great impact on the league, but Michigan’s unique way of capitalizing on the change is going to serve it well in getting back to the standards it has set as a program.
