A Maine construction company has been fined $95,000 by federal regulators following the death of an employee in March at its offices in Marshfield. The types of violations Hanscom was fined for include not having adequate safety guards on machinery, insufficient safety training, inadequate safety precautions while making equipment repairs, improper handling and training in use of chemical compounds, and inadequate fire safety precautions, among others. Details about what happened at the property that led to Moody’s death have not been disclosed, and were unavailable Thursday. The state medical examiner’s office, OSHA and Hanscom Construction did not respond to email or voicemail messages requesting information about the case. Moody worked for Hanscom Construction for four years.
